People to People serves as an umbrella organization in a number of different capacities. Foremost, P2P coordinates closely with other diaspora-based organizations and works to sync our efforts to ensure maximum efficiency, facilitate complementary activities, and avoid overlap or redundancy. Beyond the role of guiding the combined efforts of the various Ethiopian diaspora organizations, P2P forges partnerships with many other entities, including international organizations/NGOs, Western institutions/hospitals/universities, Ethiopian institutions/hospitals/universities, and corporations.
In working with our Ethiopian counterparts, P2P understands that the key to achieving meaningful, thoughtful, and sustainable international development lies with the local communities themselves. As an organization committed to the idea of empowerment and capacity-building, our strength is in our partners–the local civil society leaders that serve as change makers in their own communities. They are the originators of ideas, the innovative problem solvers, and the everyday implementers of important programs and services that benefit the most vulnerable and disadvantaged persons. P2P is proud to support them in their efforts to strengthen health systems, serve vulnerable communities, and otherwise promote the development of the country.
Please read through the following "Partners" pages to get a more full glimpse of all the partners with which P2P has collaborated and formed a relationship.
